Happy Birthday

Dear Sara,
Happy Birthday! You bless our lives! We are grateful you entered Spencer's life and joined the family. We rooted for that relationship from its beginnings and are grateful for so many wonderful memories since. Among many reasons to be grateful for you in our lives, this most recent miracle of Claire for whom we all fasted and prayed, fills us with gratitude. We are delighted you are her mom. We can't think of a better mom and dad for that little girl. Thank you for your goodness, your thoughtfulness, your singularly delightful self! We love you and hope you have a fine fine birthday. Eat lots of cake!
Love,
Paul and Shelley

To "my best friend"..........like Bronson thinks.

HAPPY STINKING BIRTHDAY!!!! (Well, I guess Spencer is in charge of the "Happy" part, Claire in charge of the stinking, and "Birthday"........your parents!) YAY for the world when you were born! Talk about one of the BEST additions EVER to the world!!!! Man, where to start on ALL our memories together?!?! I guess I'll start with a list of my favs.....
1- when you knocked down the Demon Deacon mascot, and put on the outfit and ran around the football field! That was so awesome!
2- When we glued quarters to the ground in the mall to see how many people would try to pick them up
3- When we taped McDs food to the top of your car (do you remember that BRIGHT pink wagon you had?! Total guy magnet!) and drove around. I think we counted 22 people telling us that we left our food on top of our car!
4- When you put Claire's poopy diaper under Spencer's pillow!
5- When we went on that AWESOME cruise and that Colombian guy kept hitting on you because he liked your calves!
Seriously, we just have the BEST memories together. It's really unbelievable all that we've done together! ...........yea, REALLY unbelievable since none of that happened! But maybe, just MAY-BE some of your friends posting on here just read the list and thought that you really did those things.........that thought alone will bring a smile to my face!
I told Camden it was your birthday and he said, "Tell her I want to come to her house again!" That just might be the best b-day compliment ever! Besides my list, that is:
- coolest game night couple EVER
-best Primary teacher PERIOD
-most contageous laugh
-most humble award HANDS DOWN
-if we had to live with another couple it would DEFINITELY be you all
(w/o the squirrels, I guess)
-coolest warming chip dip bowl
-best shower throw-er
-awesome photographer (it's getting that time of year again........)
-easiest person to pass the time with (w/o knowing that your WHOLE day is gone!)

Seriously, I hope you have the BEST birthday ever at that beach house thinking about how you're missing the even BETTER Enrichment night taught by the coolest of people. Our other present to you, comes through Spencer................a whole HOUR footrub by him. (don't worry we didn't break the bank on that present!) Love, the Smiths!

PS- I dropped off your pans/bowls to you on Monday and left them on your porch. I brought my camera and everything to try to get a silly/embarrassing picture to post of you on here, but you weren't there! My genius/sneaky plan was TOTALLY thwarted by your absence!

(Bummer this is the only picture of us together, considering when I wear those glasses and smile they move up my face and I look like a geek........I won't say what Brooks says I look like when that happens!)

Happy Birthday, Sweet Sara

Happy Birthday Sara! Oh how I love you! You have been a precious ray of sunshine since the day you were born and you continue to be such a light in so many peoples' lives.
I love your happy nature. Whenever I think of you I can see you laughing and smiling. You light up a room when you walk in and add happiness, enthusiasm and fun wherever you go.
I love your kind and tender heart and the way you so freely love people. You serve others in such a natural way that I am not always sure you realize that you are serving them. It just flows from you. Brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, saints in Peru, traumatized people in Thailand, children learning to ski, hungry missionaries, neighbors - you have loved and served them all.
I have always loved your love of children. You are the original Pied Piper and children everywhere feel your love and respond by adoring you. I am constantly amazed at your clever supply of techniques to engage and entertain children. It has been so precious to watch you as a new mother and see the joy and delight you find in your precious little Claire-bear. What a lucky and blessed little girl to have two such adoring parents who will make her life so happy. I am so grateful for all the ways in which the Lord has blessed you - fabulous husband (Spencer is the best!), precious baby ("She's just sooo cute"), darling house, immovable testimony, adoring family, fabulous friends and on and on and on. You are so worthy of all of these blessings. May the coming year and decade ( this is your 30th?!?!?!?!? How can that be?) bring you all the blessings you desire.

I love you with all my heart! Happy Birthday.

Love, Mom

We built this City!!!

I first met Sara when we were building this little city called Laem Pom, with rocks and stone. The image of you plastering under the gigantic Western European giant that did not speak any English will forever be in my mind. Singing as we dumped loads of concrete into wheelbarrows that were too heavy for us to carry with Kath and King Richard and reggae Sam. I fell in love with you the minute I met you, and I loved our adventures in Thailand. We almost lost you river rafting in that mud river and if we had my life would not have been as great without my Sara Pratt Henriod.

Is it weird that in this picture you had no idea you would be marrying the guy next to Kath?

You are my favorite person to tell anything to because you always give me the exact reaction I want. Seriously, you have a talent for making people feel like they are your number one. Secondly, you have the most serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) which makes you always up for anything!!! Never a dull moment with Sara.

Then the best thing happened, you and Spencer started dating. I am a little slow to figure these things out, you practically had to spell it out to me on the boat in Lake Powell and I couldn't stop screaming with excitement after you told me. Was that the funniest trip ever or what? Way too many people on a boat, you and Spencer falling in love, you flying off on that weird tube thing that took you up in the air forty feet and getting lost in the red rocks. Below isn't the prettiest picture but it's the first of you, Spencer, Dan and I. We have so much fun with you guys. If only we lived in the same city, maybe one day, sigh.

Dan and I think the world of you. I love your sweet personality, great sense of humor, and determination (I still can't believe you got Spencer to go with the name pronunciation). You have the best heart and that cute little Claire is the luckiest girl in the world. I am so glad I met you and have you in my life. H.B.T.Y.!!!

Love,
Cort (& Dan)

Thirty, Flirty & Fun...

Happy Birthday Sara!

I feel so lucky to have seen each 'decade of Sara'.

First there was our giggly '10 year old years' sitting next to each other in church and running around the Alfandre's pool.

Then we reunited again in your roaring 20's when you were a carefree college girl and then head over heels for that cute Spencer boy!

And now our worlds collide, once again, in your thrilling 30's here in Winston Salem as you become a mother and welcome sweet little baby Claire into your world.

I feel so lucky to know you and to call you my friend! Your are a burst of sunshine to everyone you meet!!! Happy 30th Birthday!

Much Love,
Alexis Morgan Snow & Boys (because you know my Nate has the hugest crush on you!!! I think it's because you were a ski instructor!! Get's the boys every time!)

I LOVE SARA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA!!!

One of the reasons that I am grateful that I got married a little later in life was because it gave me SO many opportunities to be your room roommate. I've been thinking over the last few days of all the places that we have lived together and the memories that we have made. Oh, we have had so many good times.
This is what I remember:

1. September 2000 - April 2002
Me: A Sophomore living with Julianne and Katie Clover.
You: A recently returned Missionary from Iquitos, Peru.
Julianne and I were so excited for you to return (Julianne, especially) and live with us in Chatham Towne. We had the greatest time. I mostly remember sleeping with you in your twin bed most nights. Sometimes Davis would join us. Sometimes we would all sleep together upstairs. I remember lots of dessert nights, lots of Longboarding, lots of Rob Booth, Matt Jones, Baker Morphy, Derek Swanson, and Eric Fotheringham. I remember smelling of butter and dill all the time. I remember spending HOURS upon HOURS talking, laughing, and crying with you. We loved it so much, we did it for one more year. Then, I left and went on a mission. I think that you moved to the Granary. I was so happy that you were living in Salt Lake City when I returned from my mission, but you were in DC within months. I missed you a lot.

2. May - June 2005
Me: Living in Provo, wanting to go to Thailand and build houses.
You: Also wanting to go to Thailand to build houses. Awesome
I remember Katie Clover dropping us off at the airport. Of course, we were running real late and of course, we weren't finished packing. As we were pulling up to the airport, I remember frantically trying to stuff dozens of hygiene kits into our luggage. It wasn't all fitting. Somehow we made it work, dashed inside, and made it through security. We were sprinting down to our gates when, suddenly, we found our group. We saw and recognized Devon Cone and I recognized Spencer Henriod and then we both met Caitlin and Cortney and so many others. We were room roommates, living in the Baan Krating, sleeping in the most comfortable beds, showering in perfect showers, and making cement and watching the amazing Thai men make floors out of our cement. You quickly were taken away from our group for talking to much(Devon is also to blame) and sent to Plaster with that mean Plaster Master who hated everyone except for you. Someone you got him to like you. I still remember that grumpy old man smiling after you said something. He never smiled. That was no small feat. Then, we lived with one another again in Bangkok, Thailand and were scared we were going to be killed there. I remember singing over and over again, "One night in Bangkok, makes a hard man humble." I remember sleeping on some sketchy beds and I remember some nasty showers. Good memories. We had a great night in Phuket where you flirted with Spencer all weekend, playing Sudoku and wearing robes and slippers. You were falling in love with the Speniard and I was so happy. So was he. Then, you were off to DC and I went to Camp WILD and back to Utah. I missed you again.

3. Winter 2006
Me: Living in Provo, still attending The BYU
You: After breaking John Smith's heart, move back to Utah from Washington DC.
If I remember correctly, you did live with me for just a few weeks and then moved to Grandmother's apartment in Salt Lake. I loved having you back. I was so happy that I could go and see you whenever I wanted. I loved meeting your new roommates when you living in the Kenwood House and soon understood why you loved Jenny and Gretch so much. I followed you to Salt Lake, just a few months later and lived just down the street.

4. Fall 2006
Me: Had recently moved to Salt Lake, living in the 70's house, with plans to move to the Blue House
You: Living in Salt Lake, living at the darling Kenwood House, sacrificed everything and moved with me to the Blue House.
Then, we thought, "enough is enough, we've got to live together again." So we did. You, me, and a million other girls and a Carhart Office and Wardrobe moved to The Blue House. It was old, damp, filthy, with really low ceilings, a gas leak, and not nearly enough room, but we were real happy. You were dating Spencer and so he was also our room roommate. We spent our mornings talking and talking and talking until you and I both were saying, "Oh man, my boss is REALLY going to fire me this time." Somehow we never got fired and we were often an hour or more late for work. I LOVED our mornings. I loved mountain biking and running, and skiing with you. Then, things with you and the Speniard got WAY too serious and I knew my time with you being my room roommate was coming to an end. Forever. There would be no more returns. I remember when you moved out. We packed up your last things, put them into your 4Runner, and held on to each other for dear life. We were bawling, we couldn't stop. We just kept standing there and crying and hugging and laughing and then, you REALLY had to go. I remember you pulling out and my heart broke. I hated Spencer, just for a second, because he was the reason that I was losing you. But, I was so happy that you were getting married.

So, that's it. Thank you so much for giving me the greatest years! Apart from my sisters, I have definitely lived with you more than anyone else. It's been heavenly. You are the cheeriest, funniest, most clever and creative, energetic, tenderhearted and wise girl out there. You are every one's favorite girl and we LOVE celebrating your birth. And, even though we'll never live together again, I am grateful to know that you will always be a part of my life. I am going to need to to teach me how to be a Mother. I love seeing you as a mother. Claire is the luckiest little girl on the planet. I am so grateful to know that we have more memories and good times ahead. I am also grateful to know that I can and will continue to learn from you.

I love you so much!

Love,

Frafferini

p.s. This is my FIRST blog entry ever. Please forgive any mistakes. I have no idea how it is going to turn out.

Happy Birthday Sara Dear!!

Happy 30th to my forever wanna be roommate. When I lived with Rebecca all she could talk about was when she lived with you. And when I got to have DC sleepovers with Sarah all she could talk about was how fun her permanent sleepovers were with you. And now I REALLY wish I were your roomate because from what little I have seen you are the world's most perfect mother. Maybe I can still be your roomate for a while so you can teach me all you know. I just want to be like you when I grow up. Who doesn't? You are ALWAYS kind. When people talk about you they can't help but smile, good smiles. Adam says you're the BEST girl skiier he knows, and Adam doesn't lie. You are the one that lights up a room when you walk in. You are beautiful and are an example of constant serving and giving. Whenever I'm around you I feel like I want to be a little better. AND you're funny. We love you Sara, and hope you have a wonderful day. We wish we were closer and could celebrate with you, but I guess this will have to do. Remember you like to ski and we live in Utah and like to ski too. So we hope to be seeing you and your beautiful family more.

Love, The Hepworths

One Year Older and WISER Too!

Happy Birthday to you!

We hope you have a wonderful birthday Sara! You deserve the best! We love you so much, and we will never think of med school and Winston without thinking of you and Spencer.

We hope you know that Luke adores you, but what child doesn't adore and love you!? I dare say that Luke would much rather play "tennis" with Spencer, go through your kitchen drawers, and build "forts" at the park with you than do anything else!

I don't know what we'll do when we don't live by you! All of your yummy dinners, beautiful creativity, kindness, and stories of Spencer chasing/shooting squirrels...we have time yet! Have a lovely day on your birthday!

Love-Amanda, Scott, Luke and Ty Rogers

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I love how you and J would come and get me to go waterskiing with you guys when my family wasn't around in New Hampshire... You have always been so good to me and Courtney, letting us tag along and taking care of us while we were at EFY.  Thanks for everything.  YOU ARE THE B-E-S-T BEST and I hope you have the happiest birthday in the whole wide world!  If only you guys chose to come here to Boston, we'd be able to celebrate with you! (wink wink).  For your big day, go get a Cookout shake and ENJOY IT!  You deserve every last BITE!

Faraway Birthday Wishes!

I know that wishing on candles is such a huge tradition, so we're making a few wishes of our own for you from far away!
We're wishing that Claire sleeps all the way through the night for you on your birthday eve.

We're wishing that Spencer spoils you with making dinner and cleaning the house, and changing all the poopy diapers!

We're wishing we could be there with you. We love you and wish you lived next door so that we could see you more often, but, oh well!
You have at least another good 60 years ahead of you, lucky for us the next 60 years of our lives will include you! We've only had you for 2 and can't wait for all the years ahead! You are a wonderful gal and just full of life more than anyone we know!

Now, go eat lots of cake!
Love ya, Mary Kathryn, Jeremy, Grace Tyler and Charlotte

Happy, Happy 30th Birthday, Sara!!

To my dearest Sara,

From sharing our pink Laura Ashley bedroom to talking on the opposite side of the bathroom mirror - from being JV tennis doubles partners to following you through the trees at Alta - from tanning (shhh!) in the broads to early morning runs in the American Skiier, you are most definitely a part of nearly every memory I have. And aren't I lucky?! You have made my life all the more happy and meaningful. I love you!

I hope today you realize what you give to me and so many others - a brighter day, a reason to smile, a desire to improve, a helping hand, a wise perspective, and love, love, love.

I hope you have a wonderful, fabulous, fun-filled, rewarding day with your adorable little Claire-bear and your spunky Spencey-Wencey. Love you!

Forever your adoring sister,
Julianne
